Monza’s Chevelle finds a new home at Reeves Performance Racing

Acquisition of Monza’s 1970 Chevelle by Reeves Performance Racing

Jerry “Monza” Johnston, also known as “Monza”, had put up his 1970 Chevelle, named “Bad Attitude”, for sale which was eventually bought by a concealed buyer. It has now been disclosed that Reeves Performance Racing has acquired the Chevelle and it will be driven by the young talent, Chevy Reeves. The Chevelle, powered by Pro Line Racing, will now be referred to as “The Yeti” and will continue to compete in no-prep racing events.

Johnston’s Chevelle, built by CJ Race Cars, is a true masterpiece on wheels. The team utilized all the tricks in their arsenal to create a top-notch car designed specifically for no prep racing. The car will continue to be powered by the impressive 564 cubic-inch MH7 Pro Line Hemi, while a F4-140-1 ProCharger will provide the necessary boost. M&M Transmission’s TH400 will support the combination, and control of The Yeti will still be in the hands of the FuelTech ECU. Although the car’s tuner has yet to be announced.

Despite his young age, Reeves has been involved in the world of racing for a significant portion of his life. His racing journey began at the age of 10, when he first got behind the wheel of a Junior Dragster. As he has matured, Reeves has advanced to higher speed vehicles and has gained ample experience in driving a Top Dragster. He has competed in numerous major bracket events and other races across the Western region of North America.

The Yeti is expected to reach its destination in Alberta by September. Once the vehicle is delivered, Reeves will begin conducting tests and familiarize himself with driving a 3,000 horsepower doorslammer. When the 2025 race season begins, Reeves and his team will embark on a journey to pursue NPK greatness.
