Last season, a new team championship format was implemented.
During the Ennis, Texas season finale in November, Ryan Martin’s team, who has won the series three times, made a remarkable comeback to claim the $200,000 main-event championship from their main competitor Kye Kelley’s team, who had dominated the standings throughout the season. Martin’s winning team consisted of Nate Sayler, Giuseppe Gentile, Robin Roberts, and Rich Bruder.

Despite not leaving empty-handed, Kelley had a strong performance in the Great 8 competition during the season. He was considered the top individual as he secured three victories in six final round appearances. Although he had previously been a runner-up multiple times, this was Kelley’s first championship with the series. The sixth season is expected to air in April, around the start of season seven, but the broadcasting details have not been confirmed by The Discovery Channel. It is uncertain if the season will be shown on their cable network, streaming service, or another platform.
